I purchased these beautiful works of art from artisan Avrelio Holgado Soria in Pisac Peru which is down in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. His art is created from vintage woven "Manta de Aguayo" or the traditional textile of the Andean Indians. The frames are hand carved from "cedro", also called Spanish cedar, which is a hardwood species that is found in the Peruvian rainforest. The image is typically known as the "Chismosas" or gossipers in English. Below I have included photos of Mr. Soria, the terraced ruins of Pisac, and my children at the market in the village of Pisac. It was a breathtaking sight to see!
